This website dissects the Latino population’s relationship with education and advancement in science. It begins to describe why Latino youth often times do not receive a complete education and therefore are unable to pursue careers in science such as becoming doctors. The lack of Latinos in the medical field in turn causes many problems with the healthcare of Latinos in the United States. The under-representation of Latino doctors can cause a very serious communication and cultural barrier for Latino patients in America’s Hospitals. This sight looks at the ramifications of these “barriers” in the field of medicine. Finally, this sight observes the main health concerns facing the Latino population and the lack of healthcare education and recourses available to Latinos.
