The Finance Spirit of Excellence Award Recognition Program is designed to acknowledge the tremendous efforts and contributions by Finance staff. The Spirit of Excellence award provides individual and team recognition for outstanding service and exceptional performance. The award provides the opportunity for Finance employees to be nominated by peers, co-workers and customers in order to be recognized exceptional work.

Any Finance staff member or team may be nominated for a Spirit of Excellence award. Nomination forms are also available online and at Finance office locations. Awardees will receive a specially designed Spirit of Excellence pin and a certificate acknowledging their contribution to the organization. All award recipients will be posted on the Finance web site.

The Spirit of Excellence Award recognizes examples of the following behaviors:

  • Exceptional performance
  • Provided outstanding customer service
  • Displayed creativity and initiative in the work place
  • Continuous improvement that has resulted in a productive and effective work environment
  • Meeting special needs
  • Substantial contribution to the success of the departments goals

Finance Quality Service Award Program

When preparing a Spirit of Excellence nomination, be advised, all individual Spirit of Excellence Award nominations received during the time period of November 1 st through October 31 st each year are automatically considered for the Finance Quality Service Award Program. The most successful nominations include detailed, descriptive examples of the employee’s actions which can be linked to the Finance goals or behaviors noted above.

Each year, a maximum of six Quality Service Awards are given to Finance staff members whose contributions are recognized by the entire Finance community. Quality Service Award recipients are invited to a Recognition Luncheon where they will receive a cash award and a framed Quality Service Award certificate.

The Quality Service Award Committee is entirely composed of Finance staff members not on senior management, and is completely staff-governed. The committee consists of nine Finance staff members who rotate off the committee after at least 2 years of service. The nominations are voted on anonymously.
