The following photos were taken on the Diag, the central crossroads of the University of Michigan campus, on the afternoon of December 2nd and 3rd, 2002, the 18th anniversary of the Bhopal tragedy.

Our photo display and banners attracted a lot of attention from passing students, most of whom had never before heard of the Bhopal tragedy.

We used dry ice to simulate the leaking gas and toxic waste barrels, labeled "Property of Dow", to symbolize the danger.

We roped off a large section of the Diag, the central crossroads on campus, with hazard tape and distributed nearly 800 flyers to those passing by.

Samip Mallick passes out flyers beside a prominent Micheal Parker "Wanted" poster and list of demands.

Greenpeace Campaigner Rob Fish discusses the accident and Dow's responsibility with an interested student.

"Gas" spews from a clutch of toxic waste barrels, while mock tombstones dramatize the scale of the accident.

Braving the cold on the anniversary to educate University of Michigan students about Bhopal. Pictured left to right are: Samip Mallick, Ryan Bodanyi, Rachna Dhingra, Shivani Patel, Shiny Mathew, Rob Fish, Jackie Downing, Joe Jacques.
