The following photos were taken on April 6th, 2003, at the first annual "Run for Your Life!!" at the University of Michigan.

Outside the Dow Laboratory, "toxic gases" begin to waft from this hazardous waste barrel, simulating the Bhopal chemical leak.

The Grim Reaper caught those who were too slow to escape from the gas.

Tombstones such as this one lined the race route, reminding the runners of the fate of thousands of Bhopalis.

Although the winners of the race had managed to escape from the Grim Reaper, they couldn't escape from the toxic burden that was left behind in Bhopal. Lead and mercury medals were hung around the necks of these survivors.
