Balancing NeedsPopulation data combined with mapscan show balance among regionsand within regionsfor any single indicatoror group of indicators

Population density is an indicator of general interest that might suggest alternative school siting procedures.

Population per middle school could be one rough indicator of need. Others might include age, sex, or school type.

Combining indicators can point to directions for action.

ANALYSISusing data from EMIS and from the Bureau of Statistics,together with the July, 1995 tehsil boundaries (from which district boundaries were compiled), led to the following series of maps.
