 Natural Resources and the Environment, Room 2024 Dana Building beginning

          Part 1:  Informal remarks about CSF's past, memories, accomplishments,
  tribute to Bill Drake - Fred Goodman to lead
          Lunch break
          Part 2:  Current affairs - Kris Oswalt to lead, other project managers
          Part 3:  Future business development - John Nystuen to lead

To Friends of CSF
On October 11, 2003, a meeting will be held in Ann Arbor to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the founding of CSF (1963) and in
memory of the life of William D. Drake, longtime CSF President, who died this year. (Links to information for SNRE memorial options:  chair form--side one, side two; other options, page one, page two.)
The Format
A day-long meeting on Saturday, October 11th will provide a forum to recall memories of actions past, to review current activities,
and to seek suggestions for possible CSF futures.  The format will be in three sessions, the first consisting of short presentations by
those who wish to contribute memories of past participation, recall fond/interesting incidents or to attest to the personal importance
of their association with CSF.  The second session will be devoted to current affairs, in particular, to the ChildInfo projects and the
partnership with the United Nations Agencies.  This session will include a demonstration of the ChildInfo software.  The third
session will be used to air suggestions for directions and activities for CSF in the future. 

A lunch will be available mid-day.  A buffet dinner will be held in the evening. 
The Participants
“Friends of CSF” include those with past affiliations with CSF, current participants, and people interested in CSF and its works but
without formal Foundation ties.  People with ideas for new endeavors that would be appropriate for CSF to consider supporting or
undertaking are welcome.  They are invited to make presentations in the “futures” session. 
Presentations
The “past” and “futures” sessions will consist of 10 to 15 minute presentations.  Individual speakers may use media of their choice:
PowerPoint, slides, overhead projections, handouts, etc.  We prefer to receive, but do not require, an abstract and/or full papers a
month in advance (by September 11th) in order to prepare a program to be distributed at the meeting.

CSF did not maintain a list of former participants or contacts.  We have made an effort to contact people we think of as “friends of
CSF”.  Whether you can attend this meeting or not, please give us an update about your activities and current contact information. 
If you wish, provide your personal comments about Bill Drake or CSF.  We will include them in the program handout.  In addition
to providing your current affiliations and addresses, please help us identify and locate other people you believe would be interested
in this celebration.  Attached below is the current list of people we have identified including, if available, what we believe to be their
