Beggary

Extreme poverty. Individuals with this disorder solicit alms for a livlihood (3)

Chicken broth, warm bread and a glass of water. Serve warm with spring flowers on the side.

This disorder was familiar to William Shakespeare, who wrote in "King Lear":

"The country gives me proof and precedent
Of Bedlam beggars, who, with roaring voices,
Stick in their numb'd and mortify'd bare arms
Pins, wooden pricks, nails, sprigs of rosemary;" (4).

If symptoms persist, be sure to check for a "liscense to beg under the badge of the Star of Bethlehem (4). Without such liscense, a person may well be feigning a mental illness for profit alone.
