Lunacy

Causes:

Lunacy is defined as "wild and irresponsible foolishness" (30)

Method:

John Wesley has studied lunacy to an extensive degree and has compiled the following recommendations based on his research (31).

  1. Give decoction of agrimony four times a day.
  2. Or, rub the head several times a day with vinegar in which ground ivy leaves have been infused.
  3. Or, take daily an ounce of distilled vinegar.
  4. Or, boil juice of ground ivy with sweet oil and white wine into an ointment. Shave the head anointed therewith, and chafe it in, warm, every other day for three weeks; bruise also the leaves and bind them on the head, and give three spoonfuls of the juice every morning.
  5. Or, electrify.
