Similar to several other disorders, the patient must learn to relax. However, in this case it is important that the patients functioning is not inhibited, so they can care for their newborn. Again, sometimes mint or lavender in teas will have a calming effect that provides satisfactory results. If the tea is not effective, narcotics can be used in small doses, or the "rectified spirits of wine" may be helpful (40).
