Causes:
Melancholic humors. Devastating life circumstances and the inability to cope with stress, and of course, evil spirits.
Recipe:
In order to remove the desire for death from these patients, the melancholic humors must be removed. This can be accomplished with "salt aromiac (sic), steel filings, red coral, zedoary, xyloalics, and... toasted silk." (44).
