Leeches

Method:

 

The "Hirudo sanguisuga" or blood sucking leech should be applied to the skin of the patient (27).

The location of application will affect the outcome of the treatment. Applying leeches around the anus, for example, relieves melancholia.
Side Effects:
 Memory loss can occur if leeches are applied to the nape of the neck (28).
