Conflict Management: The Fundamental Skills
The first step in resolving conflicts successfully is having a knowledge of and ability to use basic conflict resolution skills. This class provides the foundational skills for resolving conflict in any situation.

Advanced Conflict Management: Dealing with the Source of the Conflict
This session will build upon your fundamental conflict management skills by teaching you to identify the sources of conflict, target your approach to the conflict and overcome roadblocks by using the appropriate tools and skills.
You will learn to:
- Resolve the conflict without being distracted by unrelated issues
- Use direct questioning as a way to determine the source of the conflict
- Identify your "bottom line" when choosing your resolution options
- Determine when you’re in the “conflict spiral”
- Find ways to get out of the “conflict spiral” to resolve conflict faster

Working With Difficult People and Personalities, aka Working With People You Can’t Stand
Overcoming the stress experienced when interacting with “difficult” people is a challenge. By focusing on personalities and behavioral styles, this course outlines a positive approach to working around these personality conflicts.
You will learn to:

- Find coping strategies to effectively deal with difficult people and personality conflicts

Prevent, Resolve, Contain: Stopping Conflict Before it Becomes Destructive
Within every conflict are three opportunities to stop it before it grows and becomes destructive. This workshop uses the unique viewpoint of The Third Side to show when those times occur and how to use a “third side” viewpoint to stop the escalation.
You will learn to:
- View conflict in a unique and empowering way
- Identify the role of “community” members in lessening the conflict
- Recognize the three stages in an escalating conflict
- Assess which individual personality style to use at which stage
- Select the appropriate intervention technique
- Determine when to ask others’ assistance
- Engage others in preventing or lowering the intensity of a conflict

- Learning concrete skills to prevent, resolve and contain a conflict
