The Lemuel Johnson
Library

The CAAS Library was renamed in honor of the late Lemuel Johnson, former director of CAAS and a much loved and respected professor in CAAS and the English Department. A reference and referral library, the Lemuel Johnson Library will continue to support the curriculum and general information needs of faculty, staff, students and the community.

The African American Music Collection

The African American Music Collection was founded in 1974. The archive collects and preserves personal papers, books, sheet music, printed scores, playbills, sound and video recordings, instruments, photographic material, and other material culture that enhances the understanding of peoples of the African Diaspora.
