Latonia Payne,
Program Coordinator
Latonia Payne is a graduate of the University
of Michigan. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree with a specialization
in Afroamerican and African Studies. Prior to joining the
MELDI staff, Latonia worked as an administrative and library
assistant in the University of Michigan's Center for Afroamerican
and African Studies.
While at the University of Michigan, Latonia took a
study-abroad course to South Africa where
she served as a volunteer in an AIDS education project. She
was also a member of the
Black Volunteer Network.
Dorceta E. Taylor, Program Director
Dorceta Taylor is an associate professor of environmental
sociology at the University of Michigan's School of Natural
Resources and Environment. She also has an appointment in
the Center for Afroamerican and African Studies. Dr. Taylor
has been working on diversity in the environmental field for
more than two decades. For a more detailed profile of her
