Welcome
The primary goals of the Michigan Union are to maintain facilities, provide services, and promote programs that are responsive to student developmental needs and to the physcial, social, recreational and continuing education needs of the University of Michigan.
The function of the Michigan Union Board of Representatives (MUBR) is to provide policy and user advice to the director of the Michigan Union. The MUBR exists to fulfill the purpose and accomplish the objectives of the Michigan Union.
There are currently five internal committees: Arts, Facilities, Fundraising, Outreach and Technology. Each committee consists of a chairperson who is responsible for the organization and efficient functioning of the committee. Depending upon the specific nature of an issue or project that the Board has chosen to pursue, one or more of these committees may be given the responsibility of developing detailed solutions, alternatives or plans. The committee then reports these solutions, alternatives or plans along with any recommendations for action back to the Board for full Board discussion and/or action.
In addition, members of MUBR sit on the Michigan Union Office Space Allocation Committee, which is responsible for the assignment of office space in the Michigan Union for student organizations.
