Exhale Slowly

Exhaling through pursed lips provides a small amount of PEEP (positive end expiratory pressure).

PEEP reduces airway collapse after holding your breath.

If you breathe out too fast through your mouth, a rapid drop in airway back pressure may allow the airways to collapse quickly.

This may induce spasms and cause air trapping in the lungs.
