You will each enter five lines of data that you need to e-mail to me no later than 8:00 p.m. on Sunday 10/15.
    Each variable should have one space between it and the next variable.  At the end of each line of data, hit return and start a new line for the next subject.  There is no need to skip lines between each subjectís data.
     Each line of data should have 22 numbers, one for each of the 21 variables we measured, and one for your ID# which will be assigned in class.
 

***Missing data should be recorded as 999.***

Variable Number                 What You Need To Do

Legal Opinions                Just type what they wrote down.  If you can't read it and you can't
(1-12 on front)                guess what it says, record it as missing data (as if it were left blank).
                                             If they write a number not between 1 and 9, record that as missing also.

Racial Attitudes               Same as above.  Just type what they write down.
(1-6 on back page)

Age                                     Type what they write down in years.  If someone is precise enough to list months, use decimal points.

Gender                               Record gender as follows:  Male = 0
                                                                                        Female = 1

Race                                    Record race as follows:

                  White/Caucasian = 1               Black/African-American = 2
                  Asian/Asian-American = 3      Latino/Hispanic = 4
                  Arab-American = 5                  Indian = 6
                  Native American = 7               Mixed Race = 8
                  Other = 9

                                            This is not a value judgment about other races not being important, but we can only have so many
                                              categories.  If I omitted your race, the race of your participants, or forced you to categorize yourself in a
                                              manner you're uncomfortable with, I apologizeÖ

Experimenter ID#           This will be a number 1-23 that I will assign to you in class.  All five of your data lines will have the same ID#
 

Here's an example of what one of your five lines of data might look like in your email to me.
