Numerous matters of concern to students may have the words “tuition” or “fees” closely associated with them. Many of these are handled by other offices within the University. A few are not connected with the University at all. The Office of Tuition and Fees deals with Tuition Assessments and Fees Resulting from Enrollment only. We have attempted to identify some of the most commonly misdirected inquiries here.

Graduate Student Assistant (GSA) Tuition Waivers
Michigan Educational Trust (MET)
While some institutions participate in Tuition Reciprocity Agreements (assessing students from certain counties from neighboring states or fellow Big Ten schools instate rate), the University of Michigan does not currently participate in any.
Beginning Fall 2007, the University offers optional insurance protection for tuition and mandatory fees. We strongly encourage all students to take advantage of this low cost coverage of your tuition investment.
