Advises and consults with the Vice President for Student Affairs and serves as a means of communication between the Assembly and the agencies of student government. Recent Topics: review of the proposed amendments to the Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities, international student issues, student engagement and decision making, Greek-letter organizations, and student welfare issues.

Established by Senate Assembly according to Regent's Bylaw 4.06 :

...The assembly shall establish standing committees to advise and consult with the vice presidents of the University on matters within the areas of their respective responsibilities....
Purpose: The committee shall carry out specific charges from SACUA and the Assembly in the area of student relations.
The committee shall initiate discussions and explore topics which it feels are of concern in the broad area of student relations. It shall also examine current or proposed policies with reference to both immediate and long range effects.
The committee shall report to SACUA and the Assembly matters concerning which the Committee feels SACUA and the Assembly should be cognizant, and shall recommend appropriate actions by SACUA or the Assembly on such matters.
The committee shall be available to the Vice President for Student Affairs for consultation.
Composition: 10 faculty members for three year terms. Four student members; two each from the student government council and graduate student council appointed for each academic year by MSA. One member of SACUA shall be a member of this committee.
Procedures: The committee shall appoint a secretary to keep annotated minutes of official meetings and to distribute these minutes to the Committee and to forward copies of official minutes after committee acceptance to SACUA and the Vice President for Student Affairs.
The Committee, through its chair, shall keep the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Chair of SACUA informed of its activities and concerns.
The Committee shall invite the Vice President for Student Affairs and/or her/his designated representative to all meetings.
