Superhuman Powers: Mystique is a mutant metamorph or shape shifter. She can shift the atoms and molecules of her body and the clothing she is wearing to change her appearance. Thus, she can look and sound like an exact duplicate of any other human, humanoid, or semi-humanoid. However, when shifting into shapes of people who way more, are taller, and/or built differently it affects the length of time that she can stay in that shape. The longer she stays in such a shape the more strain she feels. If she stays in the form for too long she will revert to her normal self.
Biography: Because of her shape shifting abilities which she learned to use at an early age, little is know about Mystique's past. Nevertheless some interesting facts: Mystique claims to be the mother of X-Men Nightcrawler. She also was at some point looked upon Rogue, a female X-Men, as somewhat of a surrogate daughter. Nevertheless, Mystique is the founder of the third Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. She also managed to maintain the identity of a senators wife, Mallory Brickman, and have a daughter Gloria. As Raven Darkholme, she has managed to gain the position of Deputy Director of the Defense Advanced Research Planning Agency. In this position she had access to weapons and military secrets, and she used these secrets in her evil exploits. Most recently, she and her evil brotherhood found it too difficult to continue their dangerous and evil activities, so they made a deal with the government. The Brotherhood captured the evil Magneto and in return Mystique received a presidential pardon for all criminal charges against her. However, if any member of the former brotherhood is found committing a crime her pardon will be revoked. She has now fled and resumed the secret identity of Mallory Brickman.
