Location

The Angell Hall computing site is located at 444 Mason Hall. It is the large courtyard within the Angell Hall/Mason Hall joint building on Central Campus. It is the largest and busiest of the Campus Computing Sites.

Angell Hall has an array of computing facilities available for use. The site contains over 135 Mac OS and 235 Windows workstations, including the stations in the classrooms.

Color Printing at Angell Hall: Color printing is available at Angell Hall. The color printer is located within the consulting area and is available for use by all current UM Students, Faculty & Staff. Color printing is not included in the Basic Computing Package, and the cost per page will be $0.40 which will be billed to student or departmental accounts. Special Features

Electronic Classrooms: Angell Hall is home to one Mac (C) and three PC classrooms (A, B & D) equipped with computers and AV projection equipment. All 4 classrooms have workstations with CD-ROM drives available. For information on reserving these classrooms, see the Classroom Reservations and Software Submissions page.

Adaptive Technology ErgoPod: There are 2 ErgoPod workstations located in the computing site. The basis of the ergopod is an Ergoquest model 500 sit-stand-recline workstation. This workstation is designed to accommodate sitting and standing users as well as all types of wheelchairs. This platform was modified to include 2 CPUs (Mac and PC), closed circuit TV system, scanner, and flat panel attached to a monitor arm. A KVM switch is used to switch between the Mac and PC. Software is acquired from a special loadset supported by Campus Computing Sites and includes JAWS, Magic, Kurzweil 3000, and Dragon Naturally Speaking for the PC and iListen for the Mac.

Wireless Network: Angell Hall is included in the growing network of wireless computing facilities at U of M. The wireless network coverage in Angell Hall encompasses the entire computing site, its 4 classrooms, the lobby area, as well as the "glassed" area looking into the site. The UM Wireless Network is available to U-M students, faculty, and staff. More wireless information is available online at: http://www.itcom.itd.umich.edu/wireless/

Cyber Stations: Twenty-six email and web-only express stations are located at the front of the computing site. These stations provide quick access to e-mail and the web without having to wait in line for a regular-use station.

Scanner Station: There are 20 flatbed scanners available. Ten scanners are installed at a Macintosh full-use workstation. Ten scanners have been installed at Windows full-use workstations. These scanners are available for all Faculty, Students, and Staff to use during normal operating hours.
