Philanthropy

A large part of our commitment to Kappa Kappa Gamma involves giving back to our sisters and to the community. Kappa Philanthropy is focused into three sections that we call Philanthropy 1,2,3: first, we support our national Kappa family through the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation which provides financial aid to sisters in need.

"Kappas are individually very involved on campus in many different organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Make a Wish Foundation, or volunteering at the University of Michigan Hospital."

Second, we participate in local campus and community projects. Kappas are individually very involved on campus in many different organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Make a Wish Foundation, or volunteering at the University of Michigan Hospital. In years past Kappa has organized a team to participate in Relay for Life, a 24-hour Walk-A-Thon, where money raised goes towards the American Cancer Society. Each year we hold a fundraiser called Kappasta, where members from the community donate money in exchange for a homemade spaghetti dinner. Last year, the proceeds were donated to a Tsunami Relief foundation.

The third part of Kappa's philanthropy incorporates our support for Kappa's national philanthropy- Reading Is Fundamental (RIF). RIF is an organization that strives to build a more literate nation by aiding under privileged children and families with the tools they need to discover the joy of reading.

As Kappas, we feel it is important to support our community and give back to those in need.
