Affiliated Organizations

The following organizations are affiliated with Students for Organ Donation.

Gift of Life Michigan
Gift of Life is the only non-profit full service organ and tissue recovery organization in Michigan since 1971. As an organization, Gift of Life acts as an intermediary between the donor hospital and the recipient transplant center providing all of the services necessary for organ and tissue donation.



University of Michigan Transplant Center
Transplants have been occurring at the University of Michigan Transplant Center since the first transplant in Michigan was performed there in 1964. They perform approximately 350 transplants annually, making them the largest and most experienced transplant center in Michigan - and among the largest in the nation.


University of Michigan Alpha Epsilon Delta
Alpha Epsilon Delta (AED) is an honor society for undergraduate students preparing for careers in the health care professions. The object of AED is to encourage and recognize excellence in premedical scholarship; to stimulate an appreciation of the importance of premedical education in the study of medicine; to promote cooperation and contact between medical and premedical students and educators in developing an adequate program of premedical education; to bind together similarly interested students; and to use its knowledge for the benefit of health organizations, charities, and the community.


National Students for Organ Donation
Students for Organ Donation is a student-run nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting organ and tissue donation awareness and registration. Working with the framework of high schools, community colleges, and universities in the United States and Canada, they seek to empower students to make a difference in a growing international public health crisis: the shortage of vital organs and tissues.
