The mens club volleyball team here at the University of Michigan, competes at an intercollegiate level, as part of the Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, MIVA. MIVA has schools from all over the midwest competing withing their own conferences, as well as against the surrounding conferences. We compete with other schools from the Big Ten conference, such as Michigan State University, Indiana University, and Ohio State University.

In order to develop a strong team we hold tryouts at the beginning of the school year, generally early October, and practice throughout the first semester. Our season doesnt start until January, but we dont let that practicing go to waste, because we play in as many preseason tournaments as we can. Our season lasts from January until nationals which are in early April.

The University supplies all of its sports clubs with an account, which covers most of the traveling costs for our club. The rest of our funds come from our players and whatever fundraising we can manage to fit into our schedule during the year.
