Women's Lax Partners with STX
For Immediate Release-
Ann Arbor, Mich. - The University of Michigan women's lacrosse team has
reached an agreement with equipment and apparel manufacturer STX to be one of
the squad's major providers of lacrosse-related gear in the coming years.
STX was formed in 1970, and today, is one of the world's
leading producers of lacrosse sticks, padding and gloves. STX, which stands for
"sticks", was the first developer of synthetic lacrosse sticks, an innovation
that revolutionized the game itself. The company works with approximately 16
women's and 18 men's varsity-level programs on a sponsorship level. The
partnership with the Michigan women's lacrosse team, a club team, is the first
of its kind for the manufacturer.
Joanna Kotula, a product manager for STX's women's lacrosse
and field hockey division is looking forward to the new venture, "We are very
excited and proud to support the Michigan Women's Lacrosse Club program. This
is the first and only women's collegiate club program with which STX has
partnered. The Michigan team's and coaching staff's dedication to lacrosse grass
roots and their strong community involvement is an important part of the game
and culture and STX embraces this commitment."
