News and UpdatesMarch 9, 2008 First Annual Paul Bunyan Ball was a great success, reviving an old tradition! HUGE thanks to all the alumni that helped us out with the catering.
January 11, 2008 Welcome to the New Year! Happy Birthday Nick, Brendan, Sarah, and Christina! October 23, 2007 Fall Break Trip to West Virginia The fall break trip to West Virginia was an awesome time, despite a few bumps in the road. Summersville, WV was beautiful with plenty of climbing, cliff-jumping, and swimming spots for all levels of ability and recklessness. We ate lots of good food (generally cooked with an axe and the giant frying pan) cooked over the fire. We also sang songs around the fire late into the night. Mishaps included a vehicle-deer collision (don't worry, we made good use of the deer by eating it), three flat tires, and two stolen wallets. Overall though, the trip was a huge success. Thanks to Alex Seidel (Generalissimo Sideshow) for planning the trip. Check out our photos page for pictures of our adventures. October 5, 2007 Centennial celebration a huge success! The 100 year celebration this past weekend was a great experience for both actives and alumni. Society members got to meet other LVs, see old friends, and re-live happy memories. Highlights included playing songs around the campfire with musicians of many generations, canoeing by moonlight on the huron, sawing logs, mock initation at Fralich's, open mic night at the banquet, the frying of a roadkill rabbit, and Alex's centennial song. And of course, the creation of Steve's new nickname, Spike. Thanks to everyone who participated in centennial. Photos will soon be availiable to view and download pictures from the event (Sorry about the wait, theres been a few technical difficulties). We've also added some more pictures of todays actives. Enjoy! If anyone has pictures of centennial, please email them to the Keeper of the Legends, Erin Kelly, at eskelly@umich.edu September 24, 2007Holy Website, Batman! It's back! So it's been a while, but this website now actually contains accurate, current information. Check out the Activities page for news about the centennial celebration, fall break trip, and Sunday dinners. Just a few photos from the MLK weekend caving trip have been added to the Photos page. Also, lots of exciting work has been done at the cabin this fall! Come down to see the new windows, paint job, and de-trailer park-ized yard. Look for more exciting updates from your friendly neighborhood webmistress and mister.
