Each fall, second-year students at the U-M School of Nursing participate in a Sophomore Commitment Ceremony to commemorate the first step of their journey into the clinical world of nursing. The students recited the Florence Nightingale pledge and were presented with a copy of the founder of modern nursing’s 1859 book, “Notes on Nursing.”
