Finding refuge
Last year, tens of thousands of refugees from Bhutan who had been in Nepal for decades were being resettled around the world, but 60,000 still remained in the South Asian country. U-M Law Professor James Hathaway, an expert on refugee law, recently traveled to the area to help Nepali nongovernmental organizations develop refugee statutes.
