Life at A&D

The U-M School of Art and Design has created a series of videos for prospective students to explore what’s unique about being an artist/designer at Michigan. For instance, A&D students don’t have to declare a major, they have access to the resources of a major research university, and international study is required to offer context and perspective to their work.

Leafy Legacy

Approximately 57% of U-M’s campus land is dedicated to natural green space. This includes the more than 700 acres of gardens, research areas, and natural preserves managed by Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum.

North Quad, a new U-M residence hall that began housing students in 2010, is also home to the School of Information, the LSA departments of Screen Arts and Cultures and Communication Studies, the Sweetland Center for Writing, the Global Scholars Program, the Language Resource Center, and the Max Kade House.
