Access keys (keyboard shortcuts) have been defined for common navigational tasks. On most Windows browsers that support access keys, press the ALT key simultaneously with the assigned access key for a given task. On most supporting Mac browsers press the CONTROL key plus the access key.
While there are currently no standards for which action keys a user agent must use, most follow these conventions. However, some user agents depart from this, such as Opera which uses SHIFT + ESC + access key for both Windows and Mac. When using Internet Explorer for Windows, users must type ALT + access key followed by the RETURN key. In those browsers that support them, the following access keys are available:
