Academic Support Services — Tutoring
The Academic Support Services site provides students with up-to-date information regarding academic support services sponsored by or offered in conjunction with university departments. The site allows members of the university community to submit information about new services or correct information about currently listed services.


ELC - EECS Learning Center
The ELC is a supportive center, sponsored by the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department (EECS), which offers drop-in tutoring sessions for ENGR 101 and EECS 183,203,215, 270, 280, 281, 314, and 370. Locations and times are posted on the website.
Engineering Learning Resource Center
The Engineering Learning Resource Center (ELRC) houses information about tutoring, academic skills, workshops, old tests, and more.
Law School Tutoring
The Law School's tutoring service is designed to help JD and LL.M. students who are struggling to reach academic success. Tutors are fellow students who have demonstrated academic excellence in particular subject areas.
Math - Math Lab
The University of Michigan Mathematics Laboratory (located at B860 East Hall) is a walk-in tutoring service available free to all UM students. Tutoring is available for mathematics courses numbered through 217. Though help is not regularly available for other courses, we will attempt to answer the questions of any UM student who comes to us for mathematics help.
Math Tutoring Resources
The Mathematics Department provides a list of students who offer fee-based math tutoring to U-M students who need one-on-one support in addition to the assistance they receive from their instructors, GSIs, and the Math Lab
Peer Tutor Program - Sweetland Writing Center
The Sweetland Writing Center trains and supervises upper-level undergraduates to serve as writing tutors for their peers. Peer tutors come from all disciplines and are trained to help fellow undergraduates with all aspects of the writing process.
Physics - Physics Help Room
The Physics Help Room (located in 1416 Randall Lab) was created to help students who are taking the introductory physics classes and to answer most questions from other physics classes.
Statistics Tutors
Although the Statistics Department at the U-M does not endorse any particular tutor, they do provide students with a list of persons offering fee-based tutoring support. This list provides information regarding the statistics courses tutors are capable of assisting with and gives contact information for the tutors.
Student Astronomical Society Tutoring
The Student Astronomical Society provides free tutoring for students in 100 level astronomy courses here at the University of Michigan. More specifically they can help with homework problem sets, lab work, and studying for tests and exams.
Tutoring - Michigan Chapter of Tau Beta Pi
The Engineering Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi, at U-M sponsors free tutoring for 100-200 level Math and Physics courses and 100 level Chemistry and Engineering courses.
Tutoring through LSA Comprehensive Studies Program
The Comprehensive Studies Program offers tutoring for a limited number of LSA courses. If you are a student who has been accepted into this program and need help with tutoring, please refer to this page.
