THE CEREMONY
In February 2005 Arthur Miller died at his Connecticut home at the age of 89. One of the country’s greatest playwrights, Miller was also a keen observer of American society and politics, and a tireless champion of free speech and human rights.
Before his death, Miller had agreed to allow his alma mater, the University of Michigan, to name a new theater in his honor. On October 14, there will be a special naming ceremony for the Charles R. Walgreen, Jr. Drama Center and Arthur Miller Theatre, with a tribute to the playwright’s life and legacy.
We hope you can join us there to celebrate the life of this giant of American letters.
