State & Community
As a public institution, U-M engages with the community on many levels. In addition to formal liaison activities with federal, state, and local governments, U-M is home to numerous community service projects and initiatives in areas as diverse as public health, the arts, legal aid, and education. In addition, U-M promotes both state and local economic development through technology transfer, business engagement, and the sponsorship of entrepreneurial activities among students and faculty.
