Exploring
St. Petersburg: A Workshop for Teachers
A two-day workshop
for K-12 teachers exploring St. Petersburg through its culture
and examining the ways making cultural choices can become
curricular themes
This exciting, hands-on two-day workshop takes as its starting
point the community-wide celebration of the 300th anniversary
of the founding of St. Petersburg by the Romanovs. K-12
teachers will explore the cultural legacy of this city by
attending an exhibition of art from the Hermitage and a
Balanchine ballet. Numerous workshops will use visual art,
architecture, and the performing arts as a way to achieve
curriculum goals. Teachers will return to the classroom
with a host of new ideas and activities, lesson plans, bibliographies,
and other classroom resources.
