I am grateful to a number of indivduals, without whom this project could not have happened or succeded. My professors, Mark Clague and Derek Vaillant, provided me with the assignment that spurred this project, and guided me with helpful commentary and constructive criticism along the way. My fellow TASP students—Chris Alexander, Jason Chua, Henrik Herb, Meredith Hitchcock, Sophie Huber, Emily Jenda, Ridley Jones, Christina Law, Isaac Miller, Samyukta Mullangi, Matt Nestor, Sam Pimentel, Lisa Ruiz, Emma Slager, Matt Slayton, Charles Wu, and Bern Youngblood—went through this process with me and provided camraderie, advice, tape recorders, etc. Thank you all. Our factota, Adam and Jenny, let me stay up till all hours to complete the project. My family provided support and encouragement over the phone and by email. Thank you mom, dad, and Kyra.
In addition, I am grateful to a number of people who acted as resources for me as I worked on this project. Bill Shea at LS&A media services provided me with the equipment that enabled me to conduct my interview. Karen Jania, the research librarian at the Bentley Historical Library, helped me access the Al Abrams collection at the Bentley and then put me in touch with Mr. Abrams himself.
I cannot overstate how helpful Al Abrams has been. Not only did he consent to be interviewed twice, he also read over the website exhaustively, offering critiques and fact-checks. His interviews were lucid and informative, and he supplemented them with emailed notes on subjects about which I was unclear. I do not know how to thank him, so I will simply say that this project could not have succeded without his efforts.
