“Bargaining in the Defense of Benefits” was the topic of a panel discussion at the 2003 Annual Meeting of the Chapter at noon on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, in the Henderson Room of the Michigan League. Panelists included representatives of the following organized labor groups at the University of Michigan: the American Federation of State and Municipal Employees (AFSME), the Skilled Trades, the Graduate Employees Organization (GEO), and the Nursing Association.
The report of the Committee on Health Insurance Premium Design (CHIPD) was the subject of the Chapter’s Fall meeting. Charles A. Koopmann, Professor of Otolaryngology and Chair of the Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs (SACUA) spoke about the recommendations of the CHIPD committee. Professor Koopmann, a member of the Chapter, represented SACUA and the faculty on that committee.
