Immigrants in America

This project seeks to shed light on a variety of topics intimately related to Latino/as in Michigan and throughout the United States.  In a broad sense, our site seeks to describe the relationships between various Latino communities in several aspects.  These areas include the economic, social, and spatial impact that Latino communities across the nation have on other economic and social groups, as well as the influence that these groups have on the Latino community themselves.  Despite what may be seen as a superficial dissimilarity between these topics, they, of course, are intimately related.  One cannot discuss fully or in depth the social impact of Latinos without also discussing their importance in our nation’s economy.  Nor can we fully understand the spatial position of Latino communities without thinking about each individual’s social and economic standing.  We hope you learn something about Latino/a communities in Michigan and throughout the U.S. in this Website!
