Dr. Kimble was an
undergraduate at the University of California-Berkeley, a graduate
student at the University of Colorado-Boulder and a post doc at the MRC
Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, England. She joined the
faculty of the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983 and is now a
Vilas Professor at that same institution. She has been elected to
membership in the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of
Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society. She has
served as President of the Genetics Society of America and is currently
President-elect of the Society for Developmental Biology.
