Welcome to The University of Michigan Museum of Art's Slideshow Presentation of "An Evening at the Rackham"
In celebration of the University of Michigan Museum of Art's 50th Anniversary, distinguished poets from the Department of English and the Visiting Writers Program were commissioned to compose poems and short prose pieces about works of art in the Museum's permanent collection. Then, at the Rackham Amphitheatre, each writer presented his/her original composition while the accompanying work of art was projected onto a large screen. We have attempted to capture the original program, which took place on March 19, 1996, in this Web-based slideshow format for those who were unable to attend. Enjoy!
