Chinese Language Visiting Lecturer

The Department of Languages and Culture Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a visiting lecturer of Chinese for academic year 2011.  This is a one year, full-time, temporary position to begin August 15, 2011. Employment as an adjunct (part-time) instructor for the academic year 2012 is possible based on performances and needs.

Requirements include native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English; Ph.D., ABD, or M.A. in disciplines such as Chinese language, literature, history, or foreign language education by the time of employment. Teaching experience at college or university level is preferred. The responsibilities include teaching 12 hours of Chinese classes of different levels every week, organizing and attending student activities, and assisting management of the Chinese program.
