It's going, generally, but it's not quite done yet. Anyway, these are the new files on msdos.archive.umich.edu. Sorry about the lack of order, but I haven't been doing them in any particular order. Oh, and this post is Mike's fault. He said he wanted it. :P Direct questions about the archive to msdos-archivist@archive.umich.edu This site is mirrored on: wuarchive.wustl.edu in mirrors/archive.umich.edu and a couple of other places I can't remember. msdos/games/educational/aalpha.zip 485008 bytes by Flix Productions This is a game involving pressing the letter that the item in the picture begins with. Seems to be fairly self explanatory... (requires EGA) (has mouse support) msdos/games/educational/amath1.zip 364071 bytes by Flix Productions This is a young child's math game. It includes simple addition, some number identification, and reward animations for getting the right answers. (requires EGA) (has mouse support) msdos/games/educational/amem10.zip 254102 bytes by Flix Productions This is the game of memory... Find the cards that match. All of the cards have animations that are performed when the proper match is made. There's also a small "movie theater" in which to watch the animations of the cards. (requires EGA) msdos/games/adventure/ancients.zip 343181 bytes by FARR-WARE A dungeons and dragons type game, it looks like it has really cool graphics and layout, but it seems to crash my computer a lot. (Requires VGA, 386?) Any comments from the field? msdos/games/educational/animshap.zip 294552 bytes by Flix Productions This is a game of identifying shapes and colors. When they've all been identified for the current picture, the shapes animate themselves. Some neat animations in this program. It shows the various colors that are available in your copy of MSWindows. msdos/games/bomb32.zip 242524 bytes by Kenneth Morse The game of Tank Wars... Firing at other tanks while they fire at you. If you like this game, try out msdos/games/scorch12.zip. msdos/games/scorch12.zip 200389 bytes by Wendell T. Hicken The game of Tank Wars... sort of. It's another version of the same game, but with more options, and more types of bombs. I must say that I approve of this version, and find it to be somewhat better than bomb32.zip. (Requires VGA) msdos/games/scor11.zip 177313 bytes by Wendell T. Hicken An older (better?) version of Scorch. (Requires VGA) msdos/games/adventure/catabs13.zip 830350 bytes by Gamer's Edge A 3-D adventure game. It's supposed to use the same graphics engine as Wolfenstein 3-D, so at least the graphics should be good. But, it requires more free RAM than I have at the moment. (requires EGA, 590K RAM) Comments from the field? msdos/games/adventure/dracula.zip 177052 bytes by SDJ Enterprises, Inc An adventure game... With limited graphics. It's an adaptation of Bram Stoker's original book. (requires CGA, 256K) msdos/games/galactix.zip 555779 bytes by Cygnus Software This game reminds me a little of Galaxian... Not much, but a little. It will scan compressed files for the file your looking for, too. msdos/mswindows/programming/wdasm12.zip 62808 bytes by Eric Grass Windows 3.x disassembler. Don't know much about it.
