Armbar from guard
Setup: Starting from a closed guard, the Jason has his left elbow too close to Matt's belly button. If Jason were to have his elbow on the outside of Matt's right hip, Matt would not attempt this move. In an ideal situation Matt would touch Jason's left elbow to Matt's left hip.
Matt in white.
Jason in blue.
Matt cross grips Jason's left elbow with his left hand. Matt cross grips Jason's right shoulder with his right hand. Matt's left hand is cupping the tricep of Jason's arm, not grabbing the cloth, this is to prevent Jason from pulling his elbow to his thigh. Matt's right hand is grabbing Jason's shoulder. Matt is not grabbing the cloth, but he could.
Here you see the detail of Matt grabbing the tricep, and not gripping the cloth which would allow too much give.
Here you see the detail of Matt grabbing the shoulder. If Jason were to drive into Matt, Matt would use his forearm to lift into Jason's chin to crossface him and frame away the pressure. Matt also tries to use the shoulder to keep Jason close enough to do the armbar.
Matt puts his right food on Jason's hip. Matt's right knee is pinched tight to Jason's left shoulder so that Jason can not jerk his arm out of the move.
Although not a great picture, Matt escapes his hips and crunches to the left while his left foot comes up high on Jason's back as much as possible. Using his right foot, Matt keeps his hips off the floor into Jason's arm the whole time. Matt keeps pressure on Jason's shoulders between his knees.
Matt uses his right hand to push away on Jason's head while making a small loop with his right leg around Jason's head. Matt pinches his knees together, squeezes his heels towards his butt to secure Jason and tries to offbalance Jason to Jason's left as much as possible. Matt secures Jason's left hand with both his hands and makes sure the thumb is pointed towards the ceiling. Matt raises his hips to complete the sub. Note Jason's head in the crook of Matt's right knee.
