Kimura from guard
Setup: Matt is attacking the kimura when his opponent places his hand on the mat.
Matt in white.
Jason in blue.
Jason made the mistake of placing his right hand on the mat. Matt secures this hand to the ground with his left hand.
Matt sits up and puts his right hand over Jason's shoulder, entangling the arm as shown and locking on his left wrist. The debate still rages over whether Matt's thumbs should be gripping in this hold. Although Matt breaks his guard, his knees are still pinched tight to Jason's belt line.
Using his left foot, Matt escapes his hips to his left. His hips will hit Jason's right wrist and sweep it off the mat. This is the first time that Jason's hand will leave the mat since the start of the move. Matt's right foot comes off the ground in moving his hips, but still keeps tight to Jason's waist.
Keeping the arm at 90 degrees, Matt turns to his right shoulder and relocks his legs as high as possible in Jason's back.
Here you can see Matt making a point of not being flat on the mat with his back.
Keeping the hold at 90 degrees Matt continues to rotate Jason's arm using his the torque of his body for strength instead of just his arms. Glenn appreciates the move.
