* Jiu-Jitsu Seminar with 2001 World Superheavyweight Champion Marcio Corleta - (October 21 - October 26, 2002 ) Marcio returned to train, evaluate, and promote club members and also to coach the competition team at the 2002 Relson Gracie U.S. Nationals. Marcio also visited Metro Fight Club for the first time to train with the MFC members.

* 2002 Relson Gracie U.S. Nationals - The competition team took 4th place overall at The 3rd Annual Relson Gracie U.S. Nationals (October 26th, 2002):

* 2002 Metropolitan Submission Wrestling Championships - This event on September 14th, 2002, saw the team take second place overall despite only having three competitors who did exceptionally well in their respective weight classes and divisions:

Glenn Hauk (3rd - pro division)

* 2002 Canadian-American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships - This event on July 28th, 2002, saw the competition team do very well in their respective weight classes and the absolute divisions to take a 3rd place finish overall despite having only six total competitors:
Matt Jubera (1st - weight/1st - absolute)
Francis Garcia (3rd - weight)
Glenn Hauk (1st - weight/2nd - absolute)
Matt Rando-Chanon (3rd - weight)
RJ Williams (1st - absolute/ 2nd - weight).

* 2002 Toronto Showdown - This tournament in Toronto, June 28th, 2002, Canada had several memebrs competing in several divisions and weight classes. Results:

* 2002 End of Year Party - The annual party was hosted by Taylor Lapidus at 422 Cross Street in Ann Arbor on April 12th, 2002.

* 2002 Mock Awards - our mock awards were handed out at the 3rd Annual End-of-Year Party on Friday, April 12, 2002. Click here to see who won the different awards!

* 2002 Michigan Classic - RJ Williams wins the Jiu-Jitsu Tournament. Rob Linn wins the Submission Wrestling Tournament. (March - April 2002)

* Marcio Corleta Seminar - Marcio Corleta, the 2001 Mundials world champion in the 225 and over division, was back in Michigan (October 23-25, 2001) to give the club more instruction.

* 2001 Relson Gracie U.S. Nationals - RJ Williams took the silver medal in his divison down in Columbus, Ohio at this prestigious national tournament.

* 2001 National Capital Area Groundfighting Championships - RJ Wiiliams took second place in this summer sport jiu-jitsu tournament in Washington DC.

* Marcio Corleta Seminar - Marcio was back in Michigan (second and third weeks of April, 2001) to give the club seminar instruction.

* 2001 End-of-Year Party was on April 6, 2001. We named all end-of year award winners and enjoyed kegs of Bell's Oberon and Labbatt's Blue plus lots of liquor and wine and the company of friends. A cool dog (Zidane) was running rampant throughout the party as well.

* 2001 Dragon Open - On March 18, 2001 a few members competed in this event in Orion, Michigan and did very well.

* 2nd Annual American-International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships - Francis Garcia suffered cracked ribs in his first round victory in this event in Los Angeles, California on December 2, 2000.

* Marcio Corleta Seminar - Marcio was in Michigan for the week to give us instruction before winning his fight in the U.S. Open in Santa Cruz, California (October 24 and 26, November 9, 2000)
