Born in Michigan, I have lived in the Oxford area my whole life. I am currently attending the Flint campus of Michigan, but may be a student of the Dearborn campus in the time to come. As a junior, I am majoring in Communications and with a minor in Art. I am somewhat of a country girl. I have a couple horses that I love to ride and show. The best things in the world are movies, cookie dough, and Blackhawks!

The reason I joined the Army ROTC is kinda out there. I always liked the “tough girl” idea and I wanted to try something new in my life. So when I saw this good looking guy in an Army uniform, I asked him about the program. And now, here I am and I have loved being a cadet ever since.

You wouldn’t believe how much the Army ROTC program offers until you have actually been in it. I will tell you that there is nothing like the fulfillment you get once you have repelled off a building, the feeling you get when you first take off in a Blackhawk (helicopter), and the awesome friendships that you make with other cadets. Plus, you basically get paid to learn and have fun "playing Army".

Fearless!

When I first joined the program, I was the only girl out in the field surrounded by about sixty guys, so I know what it is like to be nervous as a female going into a predominately male setting. Anything that you need to know about what it is like to be a female in the program I can answer. I can also tell you what it is like going into the Army atmosphere with absolutely no military knowledge or experience.
