I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan.
I've been part of the U.S. military in one capacity or another since
I was 17, and currently am a junior and MS III at UM Flint and the platoon
leader for the 125th Light Infantry mortar platoon, Michigan National
Guard. I spend most of my time studying or fulfilling various other
responsibilities, but I enjoy reading, art, and compete regularly in
marksmanship competitions.
I enrolled in Army ROTC after some
experience with the Navy and Marine Corps because I thought the Army
offered the most opportunity. I consider an army officer the epitome
of respect and honor and strive to live to these expectations. I look
forward to serving my country and leading U.S. soldiers in defending
our country.
ROTC has been a challenging program
where I have come to gain a better understanding leadership on many
levels. I've also been exposed to technical and tactical training. In
addition, I've developed a better understanding of the historical significance
of the military and conflict. However, what I have taken most from ROTC
is a better understanding of myself, my puropse and direction in life
and my mental and physical capacities.
