Two ways to invest with Fidelity
1. Create a Custom Portfolio
You can create your own custom-made portfolio by allocating your contributions among the various Fidelity funds listed below. Simply indicate the percent you wish to allocate to the specific Fidelity funds on the application.
2. Choose a Fidelity Freedom Fund
If you lack the time, confidence, or investment knowledge to create and manage a well-diversified portfolio on your own, Fidelity Freedom Funds® can help simplify retirement investing. They allocate your contributions among other Fidelity funds to create a diversified asset allocation targeted to your retirement date, and automatically rebalance to become more conservative over time. Just choose the Freedom Fund with the target year closest to the date you may want to retire:
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2005
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2010
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2015
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2020
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2025
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2030
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2035
- Fidelity Freedom Fund 2040
Your fund choices for Fidelity Investments
List specific Fidelity fund names (ex: Magellan, Contra, Ginnie Mae) on your enrollment form. Do not list a general category like “Stocks” or “Bonds” as these are not actual fund choices. Fidelity may change fund names and may close funds to new investors. Contact Fidelity to confirm if a fund is still available or if the fund name has changed. For complete fund information call Fidelity at 800-343-0860 or visit: www.fidelity.com/atwork.
| If you list funds that are not available under the U-M Plan or choose a Fidelity fund that is closed or the name is illegible or incomplete, ALL of your Fidelity investment fund choices will be voided and contributions will be defaulted to a money market fund until you make valid investment fund elections with Fidelity. |
