Welcome to the home page of the Michigan Biodiversity Project!
The Michigan Biodiversity Project (MBP) Is a group of concerned citzens based at the University of Michigan who are working to enhance protection of native biological diversity in the State of Michigan. Our efforts focus on the protection of endangered species, their habitats, and the larger wilderness areas because these are the natural elements critical to the maintenance of native diversity within the State. We seek to achieve these goals by means of public advocasy and education, surveys of the biota, and oversight of State and Federal land management activities. These actions are undertaken for purposes of endangered species, insurance of effective protection for listed species, and protection of significant natural areas within the State of Michigan.
