Membership


To be a member of BVN, you must fit the following criteria:

  • Attend monthly mass meetings
  • Regularly attend volunteer sites
  • Be consistent and dedicated

Service Sites

 

1.         DRIVE: Determined to Rise I Vow to Excel
An afterschool program here on campus to provide a positive and productive social environment, while offering prevention and awareness education to urban teens, through the use of creativity and empowerment.

2.         Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization that works to eliminate poverty housing. We build and renovate homes in partnership with families who demonstrate need and a willingness to work with Habitat for Humanity by helping to build a home of their own. Each Habitat construction site provides a setting for people from all walks of life to work side by side in partnership with future homeowners.

3.         Heartland Nursing Home
Volunteers provide clients, caregivers, and family members with physical and emotional support during this important and stressful time. Volunteers assist the caregivers providing opportunities to get away for a needed break or provide companionship to a client that may not have many visitors.

4.         Hikone – “Mentorship/Homework Asisstance”
The Hikone Community center services low income families in a unique after-school setting. Volunteers will be responsible for  assisting students with homework in addition to being positive role models in the students’ lives.
Site Time: (Mondays/Wednesdays 4pm-5:30pm)

5.         Peace Neighborhood
An afterschool tutoring program for middle and elementary school students.
Site Time: Tuesdays, 5:30pm-6:30pm
