Post Doctorate Fellowship
Training Philosophy and Goals

Philosophy

The intent of this program is to support new professionals during the transition from internship to licensure. The foundation of our post–doctorate fellowship is primarily grounded in mentoring relationships with senior staff memebers. Individual supervision, as well as mentoring to support the post–doc's area of specialization, will be provided. A seminar series includes training in specialized assessment protocols, clinical issues, supervision, and professional development topics. Post-doctorate fellows participate in staff meetings (including in-service training) and are involved in agency work teams and committees.

We see as fundamental to this program the value of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary, and multitheoretical environment, which we believe enriches us both personally and professionally. We strive to create a micro-community at CAPS that reflects the university and mental health fields at large. Post-doctorate fellows would be expected to value and respect collaboration, teamwork, effective conflict, self- awareness, and openness to learning.
